Sandy Ridge bankable feasibility study complete with positive results

  • BFS confirms project technically and financially viable with robust economics
  • Approximately 40 local, national and international organisations contributed

Tellus Holdings Ltd (“Tellus”) is pleased to announce that a Bankable Feasibility Study (BFS) has been completed on its Sandy Ridge Project in Western Australia. The study confirms the project is technically and commercially viable, with robust project economics and was delivered on time and under budget. The Company is now progressing towards final investment decision (FID).

The BFS included the following key aspects:

  • detailed mining study
  • updated waste market analysis
  • waste acceptance and handling studies
  • pre-gate logistics study
  • facility infrastructure design and value engineering
  • operations management and workforce planning
  • project execution planning, and
  • financial analysis including detailed cost estimating.

A competitive tender for an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract was conducted for a ‘wrapped’ delivery of all post gate infrastructure, including:

  • a 55-person village
  • gatehouse and operations centre
  • roads and container hardstands
  • utilities and services
  • development of the first mined cell and cell cover, and
  • waste immobilisation plant, inspection areas and laboratory.

“The team has delivered a quality study, on time and under budget, confirming the technical and financial viability of the project. This provides an excellent baseline to move forward to final investment decision and into construction and operations readiness planning”, said Project Manager, Steve Hosking.

The study was delivered by Tellus’ project team with engineering and specialist support from a range of consultants. Approximately 40 local, national and international organisations contributed, offering best in class expertise from around the world.
