Sandy Ridge construction planning update

  • Wallis Drilling successfully completes stage four 53-hole drilling campaign
  • Golder Associates complete geotechnical site investigations and laboratory analysis
  • Initial results support previous site investigations, and advance the design and build plan

Tellus Holdings Ltd (“Tellus”) is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed a further round of targeted site investigations including a stage four drilling campaign that supports detailed site investigations, design and construction planning at its Sandy Ridge Project.

Wallis Drilling (“Wallis”) successfully completed the stage four drilling program of 45 aircore holes that focused on the infrastructure footprint to support the detailed design and build of the bulk earthworks, pavements and first waste cell.

Wallis also drilled eight additional environmental monitoring bores to meet the commitments given by Tellus as part of the Company’s Public Environmental Review (PER) and Works Approval application.

Initial analysis indicates that the results are in line with technical assumptions made in the Bankable Feasibility Study, support the previous site investigations and advance the design and build planning.

The 53 drill holes are now added to the previous 271 holes and 7,939m drilled at Sandy Ridge over the previous three drilling programs. The site works, and laboratory test work program was delivered on time and within budget.

Other drilling support services and site investigation works that were successfully undertaken included:

  • Civil geotechnical site investigations, laboratory testing and analysis by Golder Associates
  • Geological services by Continental Resource Management
  • Site clearing and test pits by Rapid Contractors
  • Camp and field support services by Terra Search.

“Tellus is pleased to be creating local business opportunities and supporting local West Australian firms,” said Managing Director, Duncan van der Merwe.
