Tellus accelerates towards operational readiness

  • Tellus is one step closer to operational readiness through the implementation of a SAP based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
  • Tellus team expands its IT and ERP capability
  • Tellus maintains its ISO accreditation for its fifth year in a row

Tellus Holdings Ltd (“Tellus”) is pleased to announce that it is accelerating towards operational readiness with the implementation of a SAP Business By DesignTM Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for its business. The ERP system and ISO accreditation will provide customers, regulators and shareholders confidence that Tellus operates within an internationally recognized quality management system.

The ERP system will allow Tellus’ business and information processes to be tracked from customer enquiry through to final placement of materials into a Tellus facility which will increase efficiency, reduce costs as well as assisting financial and regulatory compliance.

“We have selected a real-time cloud-hosted, scalable, end-to-end business system solution to suit the company as operations grow around the country,” said Tellus Managing Director Duncan van der Merwe.

“There are huge benefits for our operations including the ability to receive and send data from any mobile device, the ability to enter data from our multiple facilities direct into the SAP By Design system, and real-time connection across different regions where the business operates.”

The implementation and roll out of the system will be managed in-house by the Tellus team, led by Sanjita Tesiram, Business Systems Manager.

Sanjita joins Tellus as a Business Systems Manager, who has over 20 years of experience as an ERP implementation consultant, business analyst, change management and business transformation professional. Sanjita is skilled and experienced at full end-to-end ERP implementations across multiple industries and platforms, and has successfully implemented approximately 80 SAP Tier 1 and Tier 2 systems in Australia and overseas.

For the fifth year in a row, Tellus has once again maintained its ISO accreditation for Environment, Health and Safety and Quality standards and is currently transitioning to the revised 14001:2015 Environmental management and Quality management ISO 9001:2015 Standards.

About Tellus Holdings:
Tellus Holdings Ltd (“Tellus”) is an infrastructure development company in the business of creating economic, social and environmental value from waste, clay and salt resources. This dual revenue model involves mining the commodities kaolin clay and rock salt in thick dry remote beds which creates world’s best practice geological repositories. The voids created by mining are then used to store equipment, archives or waste using a multi- barrier system as part of an overall safety case. Tellus plans to permanently isolate hazardous waste using environmentally sound management (ESM) principles that protect the environment and human health. Tellus also supports the circular economy using long-term storage by placing like-with-like materials for operational safety reasons and to create opportunities for the future recovery of valuable materials. Tellus’ business model mirrors international solutions operating in the UK, Europe and North America. Tellus is developing the proposed Sandy Ridge facility in Western Australia (WA) and the proposed Chandler facility in the Northern Territory (NT). Both Sandy Ridge and Chandler were awarded Major Project Facilitation Service by the Australian Government and Chandler was awarded Major Project Status by the NT Government.
